Entire Print-Quality-Check

An entire print quality check should be done after every installation (new or second hand / used machine), every mechanical breakdown and after completed repair works or if there are undefinable technical or printing problems.

Generally should a quality standard be specified in the contract between the buyer / vendor for the hand over after the installation and the start of operation. The technical approval only happens after a positive print quality check which guarantees that the press is within all tolerable limits and a proper installation has been approved and documented.

The values for a technical approval of new printing presses are normally the standards of Fogra and bvdm respectively Brunner and GATF depending of the region. Print shops with very high quality standards have sometimes special agreements and parameters. They directly negotiate these acceptance testing values with the manufacturer.

Normally for second hand / used equipment is to agree a standard or, in the line of industry standard, a print quality check before dismantling is the target. This printing result is the reference for the acceptance testing after the reinstallation. 

Print quality check after mechanical breakdown or completed repair works

Many times at a machine breakdown it happens that only the obvious damages will be examined or repaired. Secondary or subsequent damages are not recognized or seen much later or too late. This is sometimes problematic and very difficult or impossible to get an enforcement to the the insurance company.

That`s why it`s very advisable to make a print quality check directly after the breakdown (if possible), but definitely after finished repair works and before the machine acceptance.In case of any conflicts, we can offer the service to involve an authorised expert (lawyer) to clear the facts.  With presses which have well documented periodic print quality checks is it much easier to clear the damages and subsequent damages after a breakdown. Special if it is a case for the insurance company. 

Print quality check in case of tough technical or printing problems

Sometimes, there are printing problems coming up which are very difficult to find and localize in a conventional way. In such cases a print quality check with the register measuring device LuchsIV is the only possibility to localize the problematic to a specific machine component. Only the exact analyze of the measuring results can show the reason of a problem often punctual.
